I’m a journalist and an editor at Foreign Affairs. Previously, I was on the editorial staff of The New Yorker, where I contributed articles on a wide variety of subjects, including Russia’s “filtration camps” in eastern Ukraine — a cover story supported by the Pulitzer Center. My writing and reporting have also appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, and other publications.

A native of Tbilisi, Georgia, I grew up mostly in New Jersey, studied international affairs at Columbia University, and served in the Peace Corps in South Africa.
